  1. Great blog! Since I collect only Overprinted Stamps of Countries or Postal Authority Changes, this is a great find. I have never seen any listings as yours.
It improves my search ability. I’m not interested in any overprints of denomination or inflation surcharges, or special announcements or Airmail Ovpts. Only Overprints that deal with stamps issued to be used by one country & later overprinted to be used in Occupation, Independence or any other Postal Authority Changes. I am hoping to find some additional material to add to your listings.
    Fantastic Job well done.
    Thanks

    • Did you ever work for V & G? Just that you’ve got the same name as someone I used to work with-40 years ago!

Please, could you tell me something about the overprint “AVA PENE” on AIUTUTAKI stamp; is only local language or a dependent island ?

    • “Ava Pene” means “half penny” in Cook Islands Maori language
      or some other overprints:
      Tai Pene = 1 penny
Rua Ma Te Ava = 2 1/2 pence
      Toru Pene = 3 pence
      Ono Pene = 6 pence
      Tai Tiringi = 1 shilling
